Chāyā explores how fabric behaves when freed from conventional structure. Three layers — a silk base, a handloom mid-layer, and a sheer organza outer — are loosely stitched together, allowing each layer to move independently. The result is a garment that appears to dissolve in real time, revealing and concealing the body through translucent shifts of fabric. The name references the Sanskrit word for shadow: a presence defined by light, always shifting, always beautiful.
Legacy handloom, heritage silk, and silk organza. Hand wash gently in cold water or dry clean. Hang dry away from direct sunlight. Handle with care — the sheer layers are delicate by design.
Each piece is carefully prepared and shipped from our Bangalore studio. Delivery timelines vary based on location and will be confirmed upon enquiry.
For international collectors, customs duties may apply at the destination country.
Multiple translucent layers of handloom and silk create a living play of shadow — the garment appears to shift and breathe with the wearer.
